Sessional Science Lab Technician

The School of Vocational & Technical Studies at South Thames College are now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Laboratory Technician - someone who is competent in all aspects of laboratory work.

The role of Laboratory Technician falls into three main categories, namely managing resources for the section of the school, implementation and review of health and safety of the post holder, staff, learners and the use of resources/equipment, and supporting teaching, learning and assessment. Furthermore, you will carry out maintenance of the laboratories/equipment, maintain stock levels/inventory and assist the academic staff to provide support in the labs.

We're looking for someone who has proven experience of providing support in a Science Laboratory (mainly Biology) and who can organise, prioritise, and reflect, using own initiative and working from instruction when prompted. You will show patience and communicate effectively at all levels and have a high level of computer literacy and technical knowledge, and have a track record of being able to share those skills.
