Head of Procurement & Contracts

We’re now looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Procurement and Contracts to join our friendly, professional and welcoming team. This is a key senior role for the College which is all about getting the best value from the College's purchasing power at the same time as minimising operational risks.

What would I do?*

As Head of Procurement & Contracts you will:

  • Be the professional lead for all procurement-related matters. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure that all recommendations are compliant with our policies and strategic priorities, as well as consistently delivering outstanding value for money. 
  • Carry out process and compliance audits, identifying improvement opportunities as issues arise or as the legislative, funding or regulatory framework changes.
  • Develop, maintain, update and implement our procurement and contract management policies, ensuring compliance with our financial regulations, UK legislation, funding and regulatory requirements.
  • Focus of making our procurement and contract policies lean, clean and consitently fit for purpose.
  • Lead on high value procurement activities, working closely with senior management, heads of department, budget holders, the COO, and the Director of Finance identifying the most cost effective and efficent procurement routes.
  • Deliver our expecations on cost, time and quality, ensuring complaince with legislative, funding or regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain external professional networks, working closely with professional partners, including frameworks, ensuring that all learning is shared with us for maximum benefits.
