Based at our beautiful Bicton College in East Devon, we are looking for enthusiastic and inspiring individuals to join our dedicated and committed Learning Support Team, who provide targeted support to learners.

The purpose of this provision is to develop independent, confident and resilient learners who are prepared to engage with the wider community.

-

We achieve this in line with our College Values, which the successful candidates will be expected to uphold:

-
  • Learner First
  • Act with integrity
  • Take ownership
  • Achieve excellence together

Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) support individual or small groups of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a wide range of curriculum areas, including Agriculture and Land and Wildlife.

-

This support includes promoting progression, development of independent life/employability skills, and preparing for adulthood.

-

An interest in the land-based curriculum is desirable. Literacy and numeracy qualifications, or a willingness to work towards Level 2 are essential.

-

Cornwall College recognises that many people start out on their teaching career path with a role within learning support and we actively encourage and support progression. The experiences gained when you become a LSP are invaluable if becoming a qualified teacher is the end goal.
