Theatre Production Teacher (part time)

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in Performing Arts, specifically with a focus on acting, to join our Createch Faculty at Guildford College. Our Performing Arts department offers pathways in Acting for Stage and Screen, Dance and Musical Theatre.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.

This is a permanent, part time role working 29.5 hours per week (0.8 FTE), and will commence in August/September.

What do you need to be successful as a Performing Arts teacher at Activate Learning?

The post holder will be required to have a range of abilities within Performing Arts, particularly in acting. Experience of singing, musical theatre and dance would also be beneficial, as would some experience of leading shows. The post holder will act as a personal tutor and study programme owner, teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 UAL qualifications in Performing Arts.

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, recent teaching experience and the ability to deliver a programme that includes singing, acting, and musical theatre. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Knowledge of UAL specifications is desirable but not essential.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
