Practical Instructor (Land Based)

Role: Practical Instructor Agriculture

We have a great opportunity based at our Shuttleworth campus for a practical instructor to become a key member of our Shuttleworth College team.

Kingshill Farm comprises 98ha of arable and grassland and a herd of Red Poll Cattle. In addition, sheep are grazed on site from October to May and lamb indoors at the start of the year. Arable cropping includes winter wheat, spring barley, sugar beet and spring peas. It is a great time to join us as we have just invested in our farm site and resources, providing a high-quality learning environment for our students.

As an instructor you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:
  • Delivering practical instruction to learners in an effective manner to ensure that students individual learning needs are met.
  • Participating in the care of farm animals, maintaining high standards of animal husbandry
  • Participating in the care of horticultural and agricultural crops and demonstration areas.
Our ideal candidate will have recent successful experience of working within the agricultural industry, alongside the following qualifications:
  • Level 3 qualification in Agriculture or equivalent
  • Competency certificates in tractor and forklift operations
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent
