Our Inclusive Learning team have a fantastic opportunity to join them as Lecturer.
The Inclusive Learning team are committed to developing our students to achieve their highest potential through their chosen subject, whilst learning invaluable skills to support them in their future. The team challenge our students to be themselves — creative, imaginative, and fantastic individuals. Their shared goal is for each student to leave the College with the tools to progress and to get the best out of their future lives. The Inclusive Learning programme offers choices for students with learning difficulties and disabilities to develop independent living and work skills in a friendly, supportive, and fun learning environment.
We are seeking an experienced teacher to oversee our New Horizons ‘transition’ programme, which enables learners to work on their essential study skills and explore course options before moving into our colleges mainstream provision. You will work with mainstream delivery areas to arrange and implement taster sessions at key points in the year. You will also deliver and oversee the delivery of Work and Learn programme which enables learners to explore the world of work, build their employability skills and gain experience working in the college Brasserie restaurant. Experience of working in a catering setting is not required. You will work with the course team leaders to plan and deliver high quality sessions and meet delivery deadlines as agreed.
You will have two tutor groups who you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the EHCP reviews for. Full support is given by the department leadership team.
Students within Inclusive Learning can expect to experience learning in the classroom, out in the community and in our horticultural centre, with the opportunity to look after animals and run independent projects. You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering the best possible learning environment for each individual student.
MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability or any other individual characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from people with backgrounds which are currently under-represented within Milton Keynes College. All offers made to successful candidates are subject to satisfactory outcomes to a range of pre-employment checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).
