37 hours per week (Term time: 36+2 weeks per year)

£21,038.24 - £22,845.50 per annum (actual salary)

 

Bolton College is committed to the personal development of its learners and provides a holistic pastoral support throughout the learner journey with a focus on ensuring learners are on track to achieve their learning outcomes.  You will be responsible for supporting the retention, progress, achievement and progression of a cohort of learners through group tutorials, one- to- one reviews and promoting positive attendance.

 

Ideally, you will:

  • Hold a GCSE maths and English (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
  • Be qualified to at least a Level 3.
  • Hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
  • Have experience of working with young people on a one-to-one basis and in groups, within a further education setting.
  • Have experience of liaising with others to ensure the correct pastoral care is provided (where needed) and supportive strategies put in place.
  • Have experience of supporting the retention, progress, achievement and progression of a cohort of learners.
  • Have experience of delivering high quality tutorial sessions.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Facilitate of a wide range of Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) topics, through the delivery of weekly group tutorial sessions.
  • Manage the progress of a cohort of approximately 14-16 tutor groups (pro rata) to ensure successful completion of their studies.
  • Work with learners on a one-to-one basis to monitor their progress of the holistic programme of study through regular reviews to ensure learners progress successfully into further employment, education and/or training.
  • Work closely with programme tutors to review SMART targets with individual learners.
  • Support learners to achieve high levels of retention, progress, achievement and progression.
