About the Role

  • Supervise the Grounds Maintenance Team in maintaining gardens, grounds, and estates.
  • Ensure all areas are kept to a high standard, providing a clean and attractive environment for students, staff and visitors.
  • Collaborate with Grounds and Sports Turf department heads to keep data and stock levels current.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment is clean and in working order and responsible for reporting any issues to the Grounds and Sports Turf Manager.
  • Implement and adhere to strict Health and Safety procedures for safe campus operations.
  • Follow department procedures to promote effective teamwork.

 

About You

  • You are adaptable with strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and lead a team without constant management direction.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in maintaining sports surfaces, grounds, and operating machinery.
  • Proficient with driving tractors with PTO-driven implements.
  • Previous grounds care experience is essential; industry-backed qualifications are desirable.
  • Additional landscape qualifications (e.g., ride-on mowers, brush cutters, PA1 & PA6) are advantageous.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license.
