Role: Student Services Manager - Residential (Live-in)

Location: Shuttleworth College - Old Warden

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £38,541 DOE and Qualifications

Hours/Weeks: 37 hrs per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term (1st October 2025) - Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Student Services Manager to join our Student Services Department at The Bedford College group.

As a Student Services Manager you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Leading the Shuttleworth Team to Support Residential Students
  • Regularly auditing the condition of the halls of residence, and liaising with colleagues to ensure improvements are made promptly where needed.
  • Supporting the Designated Persons, Staff and Students in relation to personal and health-related issues
  • Improving the student experience by offering outstanding levels of customer service
About you:
  • Degree level qualification or appropriate experience
  • Professional qualification in Level 4 Leadership and Management or willingness to complete within a specified time period.
  • Good all round level of education to include Maths and English to GCSE (Grade A - C) or equivalent level (level 2)
  • High level of computer literacy skills
  • Safeguarding experience/qualificationA successful track record of leading and managing high performing teams
  • Demonstrate a competent knowledge of Student Voice participation
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Equality and Diversity.
  • Up to date knowledge and significant experience of dealing with all aspects of safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults and the Prevent Agenda
  • Significant experience of working in a cross college safeguarding role to include policy and procedure setting, training and working with external agencies
  • Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the process of continuous review and improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
