PO1

37 hours per week, term time only working 38 weeks per year

£29,466 - £32,036 per annum (actual salary)

 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to ensure that Bolton College’s statutory obligations in relation to Post 16 Dyslexia needs’ provision are met and that exam access assessments are carried out and detailed written exam reports are submitted in line with JCQ requirements and standards. 

 

Ideally, you will have:

 

  • Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties or willingness to complete within 18 months.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed).
  • Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Experience of working within the further education context.

 

Day-to-day you will be responsible:

 

  • To keep up to date with national developments regarding learners with SpLD/Dyslexia and additional learning support funding.
  • Liaise with the Dyslexia Coordinator and the TTRS team predominantly but also other professionals within the Additional Learner Support team to ensure a wrap-around approach to the learner’s needs.
  • To support the Dyslexia Coordinator to ensure Governors and SMT and wider college staff are fully informed of developments in the area.
  • Maintain and complete sound auditable records.
  • Provide advice and guidance to teaching staff regarding learners who require Dyslexia strategies to support them to achieve.
  • Compile Form 8/Form 9s and complete exam access reports for learners needing exam concessions.
  • Teach individual learners and small groups a range of learning strategies for example assistive technologies.
