About the role as a Vocational Trainer in Carpentry:

Activate Learning are recruiting an Vocational Trainer in Carpentry to join the Construction and Engineering team based at Banbury college.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a practitioner/tutor or developing teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post will be to support the teaching and skill development of students to ensure they gain appropriate employability skills and vocational competency within a practical workshop environments.

Working side by side with teaching staff, our team of Vocational Trainers are responsible for guiding students as they build a wide bases of practical skills specifically in Carpentry pathways.

This position is part-time (22.5 hours per week), permanent contract.

What do you need to be a successful Vocational Trainer at Activate Learning?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification, preferably with a generalist Trades/Carpentry background to support the development of a wide variety of skills within our practical lessons and workshops. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.

In addition, you will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
