Teaching Assistant required for long term assignment in September

Learning Support Assistant

  • Daily rate: £120 per day
  • Location: Exeter & Plymouth
  • Job Type: Long term

Reed Education are recruiting for a passionate Teaching Assistant to support an Exeter based student on their travel to their school in Plymouth, and then carry on as a TA for secondary aged students for the whole day before returning to Exeter.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Chaperoning a student from Exeter to Plymouth on the school's bus - travel is paid for
  • Once arrived at the school you will carry out a day of regular TA duties with their students
  • Board the bus at the end of the day and chaperone the student back to Exeter
  • Working with pupils who have a range of mild learning difficulties and additional support needs, such as dyslexia, autism, ADHD, or emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Providing individualised or small group support to help pupils access the curriculum.
  • Developing pupils' literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Enhancing pupils' social and emotional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a school or college setting with pupils aged 11+.
  • A good understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND and how to support them effectively.
  • A positive, calm, and flexible approach to working with children and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A willingness to participate in training and professional development.
