As the Additional Learning Support and Skills Manager, you will manage a dedicated team of specialists committed to delivering excellent out of class support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

This exciting opportunity has arisen because of significant investment within the area to continue to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a team of specialist staff delivering out of class interventions
  • Ensuring the development of an outstanding service that meets the needs of identified students
  • The practice and delivery of excellent out of class support to SEND students
About you:
  • Relevant degree and/or level 5 qualification in SEND or SEND related studies
  • Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent
  • Level 7 Exams assessment qualification, or willingness to work towards
  • GSCE Maths and English
  • (grades A- C) or equivalentA good, detailed working knowledge and understanding of the SEND code of practice reforms.
  • Experience of teaching students with an identified Learning Difficulty and/or Disability
  • Evidence of up-to-date knowledge and skills in current teaching and SEN support practices/initiatives which promotes inclusion across the College.
  • Experience of supporting learners with specific additional needs e.g. dyslexia, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour and/or Autism/Asperger's Syndrome within an educational environment
  • Successful experience of effective planning, administrative and co-ordination responsibilities
  • A demonstrable ability to improve the quality of standards of teaching and learning within educational setting.
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
