Salary: Point 33, £36,059 - point 36, £39,360 per annum depending on experience and qualifications

Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round

Contract: Permanent

Location: This position will be based at our Peterborough Park Crescent site but the remit will cover delivery at both Peterborough and Stamford

University Centre Peterborough, Inspire Education Group's provider of Higher Education in Peterborough and Stamford, is well established as a supportive and responsive educator within the region. We need a highly motivated individual to lead our BA Criminology provision and ensure a curriculum that is both contemporary and exciting. Our social science provision has repeatedly achieved NSS scores above national benchmarks and we have a well-established, innovative team.

Our focus is on recruiting a HE Curriculum Leader able to deliver our dynamic curriculum which covers criminal justice policy, cultural representations of crime, transnational crime and policing.

Within this role you will teach a range of HE from level 4-6, and assume a lead on the Criminology degree programme. The majority of the delivery will be HE with the possibility of some Access to HE teaching at Level 3.

Key duties include:
  • Delivering high quality teaching and learning
  • Guiding and supporting learners, providing pastoral support and care
  • Providing appropriate assignment material for each programme and developing our contextual learning
  • Monitoring the progress, retention and achievement of learners
  • Maximising learner recruitment for HE/FE
  • Improving the progression rate of learners from FE to HE
  • Engaging in the development strategy for UCP in response to the changing HE landscape which includes the introduction of blended learning, interdisciplinary learning and the development of employer responsive provision.
A Level 7 or above qualification in a relevant subject area is essential, as is a teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. We will support candidates to achieve the teaching qualification if required.
