Role: Creative Arts Technician

Location: Tresham College - Kettering and Corby Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £22,000 (pro rata) DOE and Qualifications

Hours/Weeks: 20hrs per Week

Contract Type: Permanent - Term Time

About the role:

• We are currently seeking a Creative Arts Technician to join our Art & Design Department at The Bedford College group.
• As a Technician you play an important role in the success of our students through:
• Providing technical support and assistance to Lecturers and trainers in studio areas.
• Maintaining studio facilities and ensure serviceability and security of stock and equipment, and ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.
• Providing First aid response to learners, clients or staff where necessary.

About you:

• Experience in the Art & Design industry.
• Willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent or English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
• Willingness to work towards a First Aid qualification if not already held
• Knowledge of current practices within the Art & Design industry
• Competence in checking and testing of electrical equipment for safe use
• Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
• Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
• Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job roleAbility to consistently support the provision of a high-quality learning experience for all students
• Ability to organise and maintain stock inventories
• Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
