Reed Further Education are currently registering Science Lecturers who are looking for work for next academic year Sept 2024. They will deliver Physics, Chemistry and Biology up to level 2/ level 3 to students aged 14-16 and/or 16-19 years old. If you specialise in one or two of the subject areas please still get in touch as we can bring you roles for the subjects you can deliver.

We are working with colleges and sixth forms based in the Nuneaton area. The roles are temporary ongoing during term times and hours can be part-time and full-time depending on availability at the college.

Job Title: Science Lecturer

Position: Part-Time/ Full-Time

Salary: £28 - £35p/h including holiday pay

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging GCSE/ A-level Sciences (Physics and/or Chemistry and/or Biology) lessons tailored to students.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment to facilitate learning and student engagement.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to handle challenging behaviour constructively.
  • Assess student understanding and progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to develop teaching materials and strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 3 qualification in Sciences or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification i.e PGCE, AET, Cert Ed, etc.
  • Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-level Sciences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and passionate approach to teaching.
