Gas Engineering Lecturer/Assessor, Heat Pump Assessor/Trainer
Salary: Starting at £40,000 per annum (based on experience).
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire
We are seeking a Gas Engineering lecturer/assessor & Heat Pump Assessor/Trainer to join our team at Smart Gas Training & Assessment Centre. Smart Gas has become the leading apprenticeship training provider in the East Midlands, working with both Levy and Non-Levy employers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring tutor to provide learners with an outstanding learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and teach apprentices on our Gas Engineering course.
- Train and assess learners on our air source heat pump course.
- Contribute to aspirational teaching, learning and assessment.
- Train and assess learners in our centre.
- Actively engage with employers to gather feedback and report on apprentice progress.
- Keep accurate records for learners’ progress in the centre.
Desired applicants would hold or have experience with:
- Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing/Gas Engineering;
- Experience with installation and servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps.
- Industry experience (minimum 3 years) – domestic plumbing systems;
- Central heating systems – traditional and combination boilers;
- Up-to-date with Gas Safe Regulations;
- GCSE grade C (4/5) in Maths and English;
- Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment;
- Up-to-date occupational experience; and
- Enhanced DBS check.
