Our Organisation 
Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. Our College Group is now the only Further Education college in Lancashire to be graded as ‘Outstanding’ under the new Ofsted inspection framework.

Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, Employer Training and Adult Learning Provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.

The Exciting Role 
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an Events Assistant to support the Senior Events Lead in delivering high-quality, exciting and engaging events for all of our audiences. 

Providing a first impression at our on and off-campus events, this role is integral to providing the superior customer experience that the Nelson and Colne College Group is known for. Liaising with cross-College colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders, clear and impactful communication is a key part of this role, alongside influencing and engaging others.

The role will utilise key planning and prioritisation, budget management and promotion skills. All with the intention to provide all our customers, both internal and external, with the best possible experience. 

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Lancashire Adult Learning, Brierfield but will be required to travel across sites.  

 

What You Will Be Doing:
•    Working alongside the Senior Events Lead to ensure exciting and engaging brand and customer experience consistency at every stage of an event.
•    Developing and executing operational plans for all events (internal and external) considering objectives, target audience and desired outcomes.
•    Taking responsibility for event plan development and set-up, including creating floor plans and cross-College support requirements.
•    Assisting with all aspects of events from pre-event planning through to post-event evaluation and reporting.
•    Coordinating activities with suppliers and stakeholders.
•    Assisting in promoting events across a multitude of activities, providing support with logistics, marketing, administration and diary management.
•    Supporting the management of events budgets, ensuring impact and efficiency at every stage of event planning and execution.
•    Communicating with key stakeholders for every event to ensure consistency of delivery.
•    Supporting the establishment and maintenance of event management best practices, policies and operating procedures.
•    Ensuring customer experience remains a top priority throughout event planning and execution.
•    Supporting the continuous improvement of event management and delivery processes.

 

What We Are Looking For:
•    We are looking for an individual who possess excellent project management skills, is a creative and adaptable thinker and an effective communicator. It is crucial that you possess excellent interpersonal skills, are passionate and enthusiastic and have the ability to positively influence others.
•    To be successful in this role you will need to have a highly responsive, flexible and adaptable attitude, and be able to prioritise and deprioritise effectively, using your excellent organisational skills. We are also looking for someone who is able to effectively multi-task, re-prioritise and juggle conflicting deadlines, whilst displaying initiative and being solution-focused.
Above all, we need someone who is a team player and committed to the success of the activity, the role, the team and the organisation.
•    You will need a flexible approach to working times in line with the College, and must possess a full UK driving license and access to a car for business use. Please note the role will involve some travelling, for example, to local businesses, schools and events, as required.
