Can you explain English and maths in a way which would help people move forward with their life and career? If so, we are seeking to recruit an outstanding, committed and dynamic Lecturer to join our amazing English and Maths team. You would need to provide high quality teaching, learning and assessment to learners and students across a range of levels within the subject areas from Entry Level (KS1) to Level 2 equivalent (GCSE), depending on the needs of the faculty. You will also work with our apprentices.

Working closely with and supported by our team of dedicated staff, the successful candidate will contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students in the College through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement.

We’re ideally looking for someone with a Level 3 or above in English and maths or an English and maths related subject but along with ability, attitude and willingness to learn are key. New teachers are welcome to apply, or someone who is looking to get into teaching. You must either hold a teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma teaching qualification (supported by CPD) upon being appointed.

The successful candidate should have experience of delivering lessons at a standard of 'Good' or above, possess excellent communication skills and be highly motivated to provide an outstanding service to our learners. You must have proven awareness and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Flexibility and ability to adapt towards different learner needs is also essential to the role.

Finally, you will have the proven ability to work successfully and influentially as part of a team and experience of organising, managing and delivering learning opportunities in maths to really change lives for the better.

Although this an online teaching role, it is based on site at Peterborough College 5 days a week for operational reasons. This role is a blended online and face-to-face role.
