Position: Teacher of Mathematics (Maternity Cover)

Start Date: September 2024

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Mathematics to join our client's dynamic faculty on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in mathematics and a genuine passion for teaching. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons to students from Year 9 to Year 13, fostering a love for mathematics and helping each student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach high-quality, inspirational lessons that enable and encourage all pupils to fulfil their potential.
  • Contribute to the running of the Mathematics Department, under the leadership of the Head of Department.
  • Write academic reports to inform parents and pupils of progress.
  • Act as a role model to pupils, modelling the school values and maintaining those expectations in the classroom.
  • Set assessments and prepare pupils for public exams, under the direction of the Head of Department.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct, awarding and recording merits and academic concerns as appropriate.
  • Provide clear structure for lessons to ensure appropriate pace, differentiation, and engagement for all pupils.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment for all pupils.
  • Inspire confidence in pupils through constructive feedback and support to raise educational standards and ambition.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
