Role: Lecturer in Computing

Location: Bedford College - Caudwell Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,000 DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teachers pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37hrs per Week (1.0 FTE)

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join The Bedford College Group at Caudwell Campus.

As a Lecturer you play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Preparing, delivering and assessing on a range of courses.
  • Supporting and Guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students' learning and providing a high quality learning experience.
  • Undertaking course administration as necessary.
About you:
  • Degree in a Computing or related subject
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
  • Ability to teach one or more of the following topics:
  • Networking/Network Security
  • CISCO CCNA/CCNP
  • Programming/Software Development/Computer Games Development
  • Web Development
  • Security/Forensics
  • Computer Systems
  • Software Testing
  • Recent experience of teaching in a UK school, college or university
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience of working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Ability to make a positive contribution to the team, valuing and respecting others' expertise and contribution
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns.
