About the role:
As an Engineering Lecturer at City of Portsmouth College, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of engineers. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high-quality, engaging lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will design and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience and ensure that students are well-prepared for careers in various engineering fields.

In addition to teaching, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the engineering curriculum, ensuring it remains current with industry trends and technological advancements. This includes designing new course materials, updating existing ones, and participating in curriculum review processes.

Overall, this role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for engineering education and research, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Engineering lessons to learners at Level 2 and Level 3 level.
  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of learners
  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress
  • Support learners in achieving their educational goals
  • Ensure compliance with all college policies and procedures
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • A strong background in Engineering
  • A Level 5 Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards
  • Evidence of commitment to professional development
  • A good standard of Maths and English
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
