Location: Central Bedfordshire College - Dunstable Campus

About the role:

We are currently seeking a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator to join The Bedford College Group at Dunstable Campus.

As a Support Facilitatoryou play an important role in the success of our students through:
  • Identifying and providing specialised individual support to students accessing the Haven.
  • Undertaking directed interventions with identified students in line with their individual needs, such as mentoring, emotional support and guidance.
  • Liaising with the team and curriculum areas to support the safety, well-being and achievement of students accessing the Haven.
About you:
  • A Levels or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2014
  • Experience of working with a range of young people with SEND within a supporting capacity
  • Experience of working in a further education or related setting
  • Experience of working as a member of a team
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of using IT systems
  • Ability to work effectively with students on a one-to-one
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone and in writing with students, staff, parents and external agencies
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults
