Join Our Team as a Payroll and Pension Specialist!

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and have a keen eye for detail? We are looking for a dedicated Payroll and Pension Specialist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the high-quality Payroll and Pension function at our organization. This role involves collaborating with Payroll Managers to ensure the accurate and timely production of payrolls, managing pension schemes, and supporting various payroll projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Management: Assist Deputy Payroll Managers with monthly payroll runs, including producing reports and managing third-party payments.
  • Project Implementation: Work with the Group Payroll Manager on onboarding new schools and colleges on iTrent, resolving technical issues, and implementing payroll projects.
  • Pension Administration: Handle the administration of LGPS, TPS, and NEST pension schemes, including member changes and year-end returns.
Main Duties:
  • Time and Expense Claims: Monitor and review claims to ensure compliance with internal policies and legislation.
  • Payroll Processing: Use your thorough knowledge of iTrent to process payroll accurately, handle starters, leavers, and salary amendments, and manage occupational and statutory payments.
  • Pension Management: Oversee auto-enrolment and qualifying pension schemes, process pension assessments, and handle opt-ins and opt-outs efficiently.
  • Data Management: Monitor payroll mailbox/service desk, respond to queries, reconcile pay period end reports, and ensure accuracy in all payroll data.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with new payroll and pension legislation, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
General Duties:

This role is adaptable to the evolving needs of the College Group and the Multi Academy Trust. You will be expected to work flexibly and may be assigned additional duties as required.
