Derby College Group (DCG) have an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Manager in Professional and Management Education to join us. The area delivers a wide suite of qualifications in Teacher Education, Teaching Assistant Education, Assessor, Verifier and Leadership and Management Development. The portfolio of programmes is diverse and ranges from L2 to L7.

Through the management of your team, you will deliver a high-quality curriculum and be committed to developing high quality educational professionals of the future who can positively impact on the communities they serve. A teaching allocation is part of this role.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Managing and motivating staff to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment to a wide range of adult professional students.
  • Anticipating and implementing policy and industry change by reflecting it in curriculum design and development.
  • Delivering efficient and effective resource planning in relation to Curriculum/Business Development and Financial Management.
  • Proficiently managing data and taking swift action to improve data trends identified through quality processes.
  • Effectively deploying and managing resources.
  • Proactively manage Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • Implementing continuous improvement strategies.
  • Delivering on some Teacher Education Programmes.


About you

The successful candidate will be able to evidence outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practice, an understanding of the breadth of the sector and its needs and priorities, as well as excellent people management skills. If you enjoy working as part of a team and think you have the skills, drive and motivation to transform student potential then this could be the opportunity for you.

You will also:
  • Be degree educated in a relevant discipline
  • Hold a teaching qualification (Cert Ed or PGCE)
  • Hold a Level 3 or above management qualification (or be willing to work towards obtaining this)
