About the role:

Activate Learning is looking to recruit an ASC Centre Teacher to join the established team at our ASC Centres across Oxfordshire.

The role of the ASC Group Teacher is to establish and develop the curriculum at the ASC Centre to ensure it is an outstanding centre of excellence for supporting post-16 learners with a diagnosis of Autism to engage with education and progress. The ASC Group Teacher is responsible to design, plan, and deliver diverse and effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies to achieve successful outcomes for students in terms of qualifications, progression opportunities and employment. Delivery will be 1:1, small groups and through Learning Support facilitation.

This is a permanent, full time post with a requirement to work across Oxford and Banbury area, with occasional travel to our Berkshire campuses depending on requirements.

Working hours are 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 4.30pm on a Friday.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of Autism, other complex needs and learning difficulties that our students may experience. An understanding of Education Health and Care Plans and able to demonstrate the importance of student-centred approach to learning, which will also include having the ability to design, offer and implement bespoke individual learning programmes.

For this role you will need the following:

  • You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, adaptable and act as a role model of professionalism with the ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with internal and external professionals.
  • You will be able to work independently and demonstrate flexibility contributing to the team’s effectiveness and be able to react to organisational change quickly and positively.
  • E-literate and competent IT and administration skills are essential.
  • Teaching qualification along with experience of working in a similar environment.
