Role: Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor

Location: Bedford Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £24,000 DOE and Qualification, 27 days of annual leave plus bank holiday, people's pension, retail and leisure discounts.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours/52 Weeks

About the role:

As a Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor our Bedford Campus you will play a pivotal role in the success of the students through:
  • Providing impartial, pastoral advice to students and prospective students, in relation to student safeguarding and welfare.
  • Identifying and alleviating safeguarding and welfare barriers to enable students to commence, continue and complete their education.
  • Providing staff and students with advice and support on issues relating to child protection and vulnerable adults.
  • Ensuring that all learners and internal and external customers receive excellent customer care.
  • Ensuring the College child protection policies are known, understood and used appropriately
  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records
  • Working closely with all internal and external support agencies.
  • Carrying out all aspects of the role in line with TBCG culture and values
  • Ensuring the student experience is kept at the heart of everything your Directorate does
About you:
  • Effective team collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Motivating and developing teams
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks
  • Proficient in writing formal and informal letters
  • Professional telephone etiquette and meeting deadlines
  • Experience in a busy Student Welfare environment, providing information, advice, and guidance
  • L2 English and maths
  • Level 3 Qualification in relevant subject
  • IT Qualification Level 2
  • First aid at work (or willing to work towards)
