About the role:

We are looking to recruit a Safeguarding Coordinator to join our Student Support and Safeguarding Team.

Working closely with our Director, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads and the Safeguarding Team you'll support the delivery of high-quality safeguarding practice across the Group, promoting the safety and wellbeing of our students.

Through administrative support to internal and external stakeholders including regular audits of records, arranging and minuting meetings and preparing reports and data for review you'll ensure we are continually developing and improving safeguarding systems, policies and procedures and staff have the support they need to carry out their roles in student safeguarding.

You'll be the first point of contact for many queries, managing our safeguarding inbox and phone to respond to parents, staff, students, visitors, other schools/colleges and outside agencies. In addition, you will provide support to our student services and safeguarding team to ensure both teams are aligned and up to date.

This is a permanent, full-time role working on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office. It can be based at any of our campuses in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Surrey, to be discussed at interview.

What do you need to be successful as a Safeguarding Coordinator at Activate Learning?

To be successful you must have knowledge of KCSIE legislation and policies and procedures.

You should able to demonstrate good administrative and communication skills, be accurate and attentive to detail and have strong interpersonal skills.

Ideally you will also have a formal accreditation in a relevant field, i.e. Level 3 DSL qualification, experience in an education environment and of working with multiple organisations. An understanding of social care would be a benefit.
