Technical Instructor - Art & Design

Permanent, Part Time (0.6)

Your role as Technical Instructor is to assist and support to the academic staff during formal classes as well as instruct / supervise students (individually or in groups), with or without a member of teaching staff present.

You will also provide general technical support for curriculum delivery across a range of Art & Design subjects and specialist equipment. You will maintain classrooms, studios and workshops in such a way that they continue to meet robust Health & Safety requirements and assist in the construction of exhibition spaces for College shows, displays for exhibitions and fashion events.

This role will be based mainly within the Art & Design section, although remains part of a larger curriculum support team with a requirement to fulfil wider obligations within the School when needed.

We are looking for someone who ideally holds a Level 4 qualification in an Art & Design specialism and who has experience and a good working knowledge of specialist equipment and resources across a range of Art & Design specialisms. With an understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations, you will have strong communication skills and be able to work under pressure and to agreed deadlines. Experience of using Microsoft applications, including the Adobe suite, is also essential.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
