About the role:

The Director of Engineering and Motor Vehicle will have overall responsibility for ensuring the delivery of a well-designed curriculum within Engineering and Motor Vehicle and ensuring the whole learner experience is outstanding, in line with our Learning Philosophy and Learner Journey. This role will play a significant part in driving forward improvements to the delivery of the curriculum to ensure high levels of student progress, attainment, attendance and retention.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity which will be located at one of our campuses in Oxfordshire, with travel to other sites

What do you need to be successful as the Director of Engineering & Motor Vehicle at Activate Learning?

First and foremost, you will be an accomplished leader and team builder, approachable in manner, with a positive and optimistic outlook and the ability to encourage, influence and persuade others in the pursuit of Group objectives  You will have previous experience of the design of the engineering and motor vehicle curriculum to deliver an outstanding student experience together with a track record of driving up standards. You will act as a true ambassador for the Group and faculty, internally and externally.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead and motivate teams to high performance and engagement.
  • Relevant engineering or motor vehicle qualification, preferably with a teaching qualification.
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering outstanding teaching and learning to deliver an outstanding student experience
  • Demonstrate an inspiring and authentic leadership style, with excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
