About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Vocational Trainer in ICT within the Createch Faculty based at Banbury College.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a practitioner/tutor or developing teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post will be to support the teaching and skill development of students on our ICT courses across a range programmes. 

Working side by side with teaching staff, our team of Vocational Trainers are responsible for guiding students as they build a wide bases of practical skills and to prepare and support our students for the world of work, level 4 apprenticeships or university. 

This is a part-time (working 15 hours per week), permanent contract, starting September 2024.  

What do you need to be successful as a Vocational Trainer at Activate Learning?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, preferably with a IT/ Digital generalist background, including project management of social media campaign for business purposes, along with graphics, animation and where possible games development. 

Whilst we would prefer applications from those with teaching experience in a secondary or FE setting, we would consider applications from inexperienced trainers, that can demonstrate a can do attitude, who is student focused and with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to develop skills within teaching and learning.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their desire and ability to work alongside the wider team to develop links with local businesses and the wider community to build and engage students in valuable work experience and project-based learning.
