About the Role

Based across University Centre & Leeds Conservatoire

This highly motivated Access and Participation Officer will provide support for access and participation in relation to underrepresented groupsat Leeds Conservatoire and University Centre Leeds. This will predominately focus on the delivery of outreach activity to schools, colleges and communities across West Yorkshire, but will also upport with the administration anddelivery of progression activity for on-course students from underrepresented groups.

What You Will Do

The Access and Participation Officer will represent Leeds Conservatoire and University Centre Leeds whilst promotingaccess to and progression in higher education (HE) through a variety of activities. This will include activity/session administration and the facilitation of activity in schools, college and communities across West Yorkshire, mainly Leeds.

You will liaise with, and work collaboratively with, inter- and cross-institution departments and teams to develop, co-ordinate and monitorinformation, advice and guidance to support access and participation in HE. This will include facilitating knowledge exchange from external agencies into the institution to relevant departments.

About You
  • Must have a degree/equivalent qualificationin a relevent subject area or equivalent or substantial workexperience in this area
  • A good understanding of thebarriers to higher education for under-represented groups.
  • You should have experience of working on outreach and/or student support activity and experience working with schools, teachers, parents, and/or community groups would be beneficial.
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and flexibly in order to meet deadlines
  • Flexible to travel across different locations
