Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated full-time Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 (KS1) team starting in September. This role focuses on delivering targeted intervention sessions in phonics, maths, reading, and English to small groups of students. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping students who need additional support to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct small group intervention sessions in phonics, maths, reading, and English.
  • Work closely with class teachers to identify students who would benefit from additional support.
  • Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to address specific learning needs.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to help students build confidence and skills.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage and motivate students.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices in intervention teaching.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly within KS1.
  • Strong knowledge of phonics, maths, reading, and English teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or teaching assistance are desirable.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake a new one.
