Hourly Paid Lecturer in Computing

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join the School of Computing at Barnfield College, Luton.

We are looking for well-motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer to join our committed and successful team. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to have a positive effect on the lives and learning experience of our Computing students.

There is the potential to teach students aged 16-19+ from Level 1 to Level 3. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills to teach Further Education learners and be part of a team thriving in a dynamic learning environment.

The right candidate will be someone with up-to-date industry knowledge with an understanding of learners in the FE sector. You will be capable of developing interactive and developmental learning materials in computing and cyber security which engage and stimulate a diverse range of students with differing needs.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, student-centred with the ability to provide pastoral care and be a strong role model for our students.

A relevant degree is a requirement, and a teaching qualification and/or industry experience is desirable, although full training to obtain this could be provided. You will have an ability to promote, support and embed English and maths skills within planning and delivery of all teaching.

You'll have the full support of a vibrant team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do so you'll be actively encouraged to upskill.

We have a free on site gym at Watford campus, and you can access a wide range of discounts and benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking, and generous pension.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 4 th July 2024.

Interviews will be held Friday 12 th July 2024.
