MK College Group is recruiting for an inspiring and creative Barbering Lecturer/Tutor/Teacher to join the Education Team based on-site at HMP Bullingdon.

The Barbering course is a very popular choice with learners based at HMP Bullingdon. Vocational courses help learners develop not only qualifications but softer skills that can be used in employment upon release. The learners are enthusiastic and keen to develop new skills.

We are looking for an experienced industry professional who has worked within a salon. As a Barbering Tutor, you will be delivering exciting and engaging Level 1 Award and Level 2 Certificate in Barbering through the awarding body of City and Guilds. Due to the requirements for the awarding body, we are seeking an individual who possesses Level 3 hairdressing and/or Level 3 Barbering.

ABOUT HMP Bullingdon…

Bullingdon Community Prison is situated near the village of Arncott in Bicester, Oxon. HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has several functions. It is categorized as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function. HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.

The College works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver short to medium courses that help prepare learners for employment upon release. Courses include: English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), ESOL, ICT, Barista, Hospitality, Business, Self-Employment, Personal Development, Art, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, General Maintenance Skills, Mentoring and Barbering.
