About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Vocational Trainer in Esports within the Createch Faculty based at Blackbird Leys College. Createch is where creativity meets technology, bringing together creative skills and emerging technologies.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a creative practitioner or developing teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. Knowledge of UAL specifications is desirable but not essential.

The post will be to support the teaching and skill development of students on our UAL courses across a range of levels from Level 1 to our L3/L4 Foundation Diploma in Esports. Working side by side with teaching staff, our Vocational Trainers are responsible for guiding students as they build a wide range of practical skills across Esports pathways. In addition, part of the role is to ensure we are health and safety compliant in our teaching spaces by maintaining our environments and equipment in these spaces.

This post is a permanent part-time role working 22.5 hours per week based at Blackbird Leys college.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, preferably with a generalist Esports base to support the development of a wide variety of skills within our practical digital spaces. A strong focus on techniques would be particularly useful, including Media and Gaming. Whilst we would prefer applications from those with teaching experience in a secondary or FE setting, we would consider applications from inexperienced trainers, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to develop skills within the teaching and learning.

In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will show the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes we develop within our learners.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their desire and ability to work alongside the wider team to develop links with local businesses and the wider community to build and engage students in valuable work experience and project-based learning.

If you are committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning and interested in exploring this opportunity further, then please complete the application form.
